1.  Full Time Driver/loader 
Reports to: Restore Manager

Must be at least 26 years old with a clean background and driving record. Responsible for assisting customers in the operation of the ReStore. The associate will assist in the pick-up of donated items, handle and/or allocate donated items, and assist customers when needed. This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with others, strong time management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly.

  • Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to operate a cash register with proficiency.
  • Must be able to follow instructions while working independently.
  • Exhibit accuracy and good record-keeping when handling financial transactions.
  • Must be able to be on your feet 8 hours a day and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Education – Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be dedicated to East Polk County Inc. Habitat for Humanity’s Mission and work closely with all staff and volunteers.
  • Must pass a background check.

2. Part-time Cashier

Reports to: ReStore Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for the management and appropriate handling of the cash register, assisting and greeting ReStore customers. May perform a variety of tasks including cleaning and restocking merchandise. Assisting ReStore customers, volunteers, and partner families in any way needed to ensure a positive experience

Requirements:
  • Must have be customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be at least at least 18 years old
  • Must have the ability to operate a cash register with proficiency.
  • Must be able to follow instructions while working independently.
  • Exhibit accuracy and good record-keeping when handling financial transactions.
  • Must be able to be on your feet 4-8 hours a day and lift 25 lbs.
  • Education – Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be dedicated to East Polk County, Inc Habitat for Humanity’s Mission and work closely with all staff and volunteers.
  • Must pass a background check.

3. Assistant Manager-Winter Haven Restore

Job Description
The ReStore Assistant Manager supports the ReStore Manager in running a retail operation that sells used and over-stock building materials, appliances, furniture, and other goods to provide a revenue stream to support more qualifying Habitat homeowners. Responsibilities include daily operational planning, policy and procedure development, assisting with the management of staff, and ensuring a safe and fun environment for employees and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the daily planning and operations of the ReStore.
  • Work closely with the ReStore Manager to create and implement policies and procedures for efficient and effective operation, as well as plans for promotion of and growth of the ReStore.
  • Supervise daily operations. Implement and monitor daily operational procedures, including monetary transactions and deposits.
  • Evaluate staff and ensure compliance with all East Polk Habitat employment policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive working environment for employees, volunteers, and customers. Provide superior customer service.
  • Address employee concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Monitor competitive pricing and practices. Set pricing for all merchandise consistent with existing policy and train staff accordingly.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports for sales activities, expenses, progress on projects, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other area ReStores and Habitat affiliates, East Polk Habitat staff and volunteers, and Habitat partner families.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Prior retail experience strongly desired.
  • 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Background in sales and/or donation procurement preferred.
  • Background in construction and building materials helpful.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Dedication to the philosophy and passion for the ministry of Habitat.
  • Familiarity with Habitat’s affiliate program and/or ReStore is preferred.
  • Available to work a full-time schedule as needed to operate the store.
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-motivate, adapt to a changing environment and work well with volunteers.
  • Ability to operate a box truck.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaker a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to execute event setup and breakdown. This includes but is not limited to extended hours of work, ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, ability to load and unload vehicles, and long hours of standing.
