  1. Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of East Polk County, Inc.

Position Summary: The Executive Director provides overall managerial leadership to affiliate and Restores in accordance with directives, policies, and objectives set by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director accepts the covenant of Habitat for Humanity International and is a leading advocate of the affiliate in regard to fulfilling the mission and vision statements that define Habitat for Humanity of East Polk County, Inc.

Essential Duties and responsibilities: Leadership, fiscal responsibilities, human resources, responsibility to Board of Directors, financial management, committee support/guidance, and community relations/resource development.

Skills/Experience: Should have a Christ-centered approach to leadership. Non-profit experience a plus. Must be able to articulate the organization’s mission, values, and goals. Must be organized, able to meet deadlines, and able to manage projects. Must be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work effectively and communicate clearly with diverse group of people such as client families, Board members, and the community at large. Must obtain and maintain a clear understanding to the mission of HFHEPC. Must maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field, including training provided by HFHI. Ability to create a long term vision and provide leadership. Ability to synthesize complex and or diverse information. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather/analyze information skillfully, and effectively lead by displaying sound and accurate judgement.

2.  Full Time Driver/loader 
Reports to: Restore Manager

Must be at least 26 years old with a clean background and driving record. Responsible for assisting customers in the operation of the ReStore. The associate will assist in the pick-up of donated items, handle and/or allocate donated items, and assist customers when needed. This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with others, strong time management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly.

  • Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to operate a cash register with proficiency.
  • Must be able to follow instructions while working independently.
  • Exhibit accuracy and good record-keeping when handling financial transactions.
  • Must be able to be on your feet 8 hours a day and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Education – Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be dedicated to East Polk County Inc. Habitat for Humanity’s Mission and work closely with all staff and volunteers.
  • Must pass a background check.

3. Part-time Cashier

Reports to: ReStore Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for the management and appropriate handling of the cash register, assisting and greeting ReStore customers. May perform a variety of tasks including cleaning and restocking merchandise. Assisting ReStore customers, volunteers, and partner families in any way needed to ensure a positive experience

Requirements:
  • Must have be customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be at least at least 18 years old
  • Must have the ability to operate a cash register with proficiency.
  • Must be able to follow instructions while working independently.
  • Exhibit accuracy and good record-keeping when handling financial transactions.
  • Must be able to be on your feet 4-8 hours a day and lift 25 lbs.
  • Education – Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be dedicated to East Polk County, Inc Habitat for Humanity’s Mission and work closely with all staff and volunteers.
  • Must pass a background check.
